Flying Cops Disaster
‘Prepare for force landing’ cried the captain.
BOOM! That was the last sound I heard before banging my head onto the steering wheel.
‘Sir, sir wake up we’re lost and the helicopter is about to explode into flames!’ screamed Zachery, student training to be a pilot.
I untangled the wires and things heaped on top of us as gas leaked out onto us. Our plane was the brand new model helicopter allowing us to track down anybody lost by their heat. I was lucky enough to try this helicopter out with a specially trained pilot. I screamed and screamed for the captain wake up until finally I spat into his eyes as I stretched his eyelids. Finally he woke and stumble furtherer away from the helicopter as a blaze of fire burst out. I looked in every direction but all I saw was smoke and sand dunes. I realized we were in the desert, an unknown desert.
Suddenly we heard a faint sound of a plane then the sound disappeared. We both knew we have not much luck of being rescued. Day after day we walked and slept on the sand, eating only water from inside cactuse we barely found. After what seemed like a year of walking the captain collapsed of heatstroke and hunger. Luckily I stuffed my pocket with medication when I got out of the ruin. I picked up a medication I thought was correct and tipped it into the captains mouth. 5 minutes past and I still didn’t know what to do till I remembered something called CPR in the training lesson so I did it on the captain. On my last push of CPR the captain screamed so loud. The screamed finish unexpectedly as the captain woke up and gave me a lecture on what to do when someone gets heatstroke. First you don’t do CPR and second do not feed people on medication they do not know of!
Back in Auckland, New Zealand, the air force was trying to get in contact with the people who flew the new helicopter. They waited days and days for them to arrive back. Charlie, also a student training to be a pilot and Zach’s mate started to panic because he remembered seeing scientist Lynald walking up to the helicopter late at night and stuck a round object on the helicopter’s propeller, this seemed strange. Later in the afternoon if he could send a send a search party to find them. The captain’s reply was obviously no, to wait for them for a few more days because they might have stopped in a city and lived in a hotel for few days for resting and is about to come back to base.
Zach walked behind the captain in shame for his stupidity of the accident. One week passed…Another past….And another, with still no sign of living close by. Finally they found a shelter place to rest properly in. In the middle of a stormy night Zach felt something heavy on his chest. Zach’s eyes fluttered open and he shrieked. Captain woke up as he saw a huge shadow looming towards him. He instantly stood up and yanked the camel of Zach’s chest then tied the string, which was on the camel, to a pole. When the sun rise we hoped onto the camel’s back. I could tell that the captain was very happy because he had a huge smile spread across his face and we didn’t have to walk that far. After a few days the camel came to a stop in front of a giant pyramid but this pyramid looked different from normal ones it had blocks of gold and it was made into the shape of a cactus. We searched and searched till captain spotted a piece of gold block sticking unevenly. I carefully pulled out the block and all of a sudden the whole part shifted into a door shape. We entered.
I noticed we were in total darkness except a small flame of torch shining just in front of the entrance. The captain knew about bobby traps in pyramids and how to dodge them. He said ‘obvious paths lead to deadly traps’ I repeated this the whole way through. The paths were like a maze except instead of ending with wall but dangerous traps. Once I saw a mummy lean against the wall, this made me yelp but not in time just as the captain covered my mouth. At the end of the long journey I was so happy but soon my happiness faded because right in front of me was the ancient mummy pharaoh with guard all around him. People have rumored about this ancient Egyptian pharaoh but never has anyone found him. All of a sudden a bunch of flying bone-arrow flew towards us. Luckily these guards were not that good as the training course I went through at the military base and missed us. The pharaoh made a signal signaling them to stop. He walked over to us and in a funny accent he asked us who we were and why we’re here. We told them about the truth of their broken helicopter and crashed here. The pharaoh did not believe us and shooed us out of here back into the blazing heat.
Charlie finally convinced the officer to let him help search for his friend. They wanted to try out the exact model of the helicopter Zach and captain went on to check if there was any mistake in the helicopter. After a few hours someone spotted a plane in a heap of wreckage on a unknown desert. This must be it thought Charlie with a gleam in his eyes. Continuing the search they saw footsteps and camel prints.
The night they got shooed out they heard someone pacing back and forth from the other side of the pyramid they were sleeping in. Suddenly the captain figured out that this person must be why the king was scared of, he thought they were his spy or henchman trying to steal jewelry and then the captain explained this to Zachery. They tip-toed towards the burglar, to captain’s surprise he was Osama Benladin, the most wanted Iraq terrorist. Just when Benladin wasn’t looking they sneaked in the building. They tried and tried to think of a idea till a perfect idea popped into Zachery’s mind. He would try and find where the bones were stored and grab a big bottle of sticky thing like glue. Next, with captain’s help they would try and build a skeleton of Benladin. When this is done they will hide and pretend to have the voice of a mummy and fortune teller and say that he would die with his journey through this ancient pyramid. Soon later Benladin came in. He was scared to death especially of his pale face against the darkness. When he left I burst out into laughter and soon captain joined in. We laughed and laughed that we didn’t see the pharaoh come. Captain was the first to notice. We immediately stood up and bowed. Just as our head went down the pharaoh placed a fabulous gleaming crown on our head. The pharaoh lead us to a feast already made. The guards were so surprised of our great achievement and the way we swallowed our food. Finally it was time for our prize. We were expected to be rewarded by treasure but instead he granted us one wish. We immediately both said to be teleported back to Auckland. The pharaoh thought and thought about this wish until later he said e would take us back.
Charlie and his team flew ad flew till the footprints disappeared at the end of a pyramid none of the crew mates and himself didn’t know about. From out of nowhere two humans came out of the pyramid. Charlie saw the shaggy hair of Zachery’s and badge of the captain’s. Those flying humans must be his friend! Instead of flying at the speed of 80km/hr he order the pilot to go at the speed of 120km/hr. A few minutes later they caught up to the flying humans. Charlie asked captain and Zach they want a ride on the plane back to base but they exchange nervous glances and shook their head because of their awful experienced of the helicopter. Charlie shrugged his shoulder in agreement. When they arrived back to base the officer was waving in excitement. Everyone hoped out and asked why was he so happy when one of his helicopter has been destroyed and he said because everyone arrived back safely. When everyone gathered in a important meeting of how the brand new helicopter broke Charlie took a quick glance at Scientist Lynald as he started to sweat slightly. Suddenly Charlie stood up. Everyone went quite because they knew he had the answer. Through a 1 minute pause Charlie said it was the scientist. He walked up to the DVD player and insert a short clip of what the scientist did. Everyone was stunned to hear this because captain and the scientist was great friends. Then the scientist stood up and explained why he did that. The truth was when he was in intermediate the captain disliked him because he was the smartest in the class and captain was the second. One day captain placed a stink bomb under his desk in the morning block. When the scientist went to sit down at his desk a girl that he liked since primary came up to him and asked him for a ride to Rainbows End in the weekends. Because the teacher still hasn’t arrived in class he said yes but right at the time he said yes a fart noise and horrible stench filled the whole classroom. The girl he liked went bright red then stormed away and right in front of me she asked captain out. I was bullied for a long time. I knew the captain placed that bomb under my desk but never told anyone because instead of standing up for me they would just laugh and say it was just an excuse. Later when he grew up he would get revenge because he destroyed his future. After the explanation scientist Lynald ran out of the room. Luckily we had guards all round the building but the scientist was a good dodger and ran past the door guards. When the scientist was captured we took him to the court. Scientist had to explain everything again, this time captain actually burst out laughing just as I look at captain. I dragged him out of the room in case anyone gets mad. Few hours past the officer and Charlie came out with scientist Lynald in cuffs. Officer said he would be in jail for 2 years. Finally I was allowed to go back home and meet my family. Everyone was very worried about me and my conditions. I laughed and sighed in relief.

The Chupacabras is a legendary cryptid rumored to inhabit parts of the America. The first reported attacks occurred in March 1995 in Puerto Rico. In this attack, 8 sheeps were discovered dead, each with 3 puncture wounds in the chest area and completely drained with blood. A few months later, in August, an eyewitness reported seeing the creature in the Puerto Rican town, when as many as 150 farm animals and pets were reported died. In 1975 similar killings in the small towns of Moca had also accured. It was suspected that the killings were committed by a Satanic cult, later more killings were reported around the island, and many farms reported farms reported loss of animal life. Each of the animals had their body completely covered in dry blood. After these events had happened more animal death were reported from other countries.
The most common description of chupacabras is a reptile-like being, appearing to have leathery or scaly greenish-gray skin and sharp spines running down its back. This form stands approximately 1 to 1.2 m high, and stands and hops in a similar way to a kangaroo. In at least one sighting, the creature was reported to hop 6 m. This variety is said to have a dog or panther-like nose and face, a forked tongue, and large fangs. It is said to hiss and screech when alarmed, as well as leave behind a sulfuric stench. When it screeches, some reports assert that the chupacabras' eyes glow an unusual red which gives the witnesses nausea.
Another description of chupacabras, although not as common, describes a strange breed of wild dog. This form is mostly hairless, unusually pronounced eye sockets, fangs, and claws. It is claimed that this breed might be an example of a dog-like reptile. Unlike conventional predators, the chupacabras is said to drain all of the animal's blood (and sometimes organs) usually through three holes in the shape of an upside-down triangle or through one or two holes.
The Bunyip
Aboriginal legend has it that the Bunyip is a creature that lurks in swamps, creeks, waterholes and riverbeds. The Bunyip emerges at night time, often with terrifying cries and blood curdling screams. They devour any animal or human venturing near their home, it is said that women are their favourite prey, most likely because they are more defenceless.
There is no absolute description of Bunyips recorded. They have varied from animal to spirit form. Often the Bunyip has been described as a gorilla-type animal, varying to half human half animal and also as a spirit. The shape, size and colour of the Bunyip varies as much as it's description. Some have reported seeing the Bunyip similar to a fish, with the Bunyip having scales, another with fur. Some have reported it as having fur, others with feathers. One witness reported seeing the Bunyip as similar to an Elephant, even down to the trunk. One report states the Bunyip as being similar to a giraffe, with its long necks and tail. Others claim to have spotted the Bunyip as having claws and horns. No physical evidence has actually been proven; although scientists suggest that they could have been a Diprotodon, which became extinct about 20,000 years ago. The natives were so frightened by this being, this Bunyip, that even after its extinction, they were too afraid to venture near waterholes. Their dreamtime stories were full of horror and death making it a much feared creature.
When white settlers started to befriend the Aborigines, they were told about this fearsome creature. Settlers were also warned about going near any waterholes at night, or near any known haunts of the Bunyip. Many times when the settler was out in the bushland at night, hearing strange, loud noises, they were sure that the Bunyip was out there, waiting to attack them. The existence of Bunyips was taken very seriously by the white settler.
It is thought the Bunyip legend originated from the era of 1932, during The Great Depression which was happening at this time. Often people would roam into the wilderness trying to avoid the hardships which fell upon many during this time. Some were escaping the law, others were simply travelling through this magnificent country. If the person was hiding from the law, or trying to escape the hardships, often when they heard some-one approaching they would hide. Many hid in the shrubbery, but some also hid in the swamps or lakes. To do this, they would create a snorkel made of bone through which they would breathe. Many times, thinking that their visitors had gone, they would emerge from the water covered with mud and slime. Screaming upon seeing the other person still there, the intruder naturally thought they had stumbled upon a Bunyip. As for the Bunyip having a taste for women above men or animals, it could be explained that the men having been alone for some length of time, took a fancy to the passing woman.
In the coastal town of Geelong, Victoria there was a report in July of 1845 of the finding of unfossilised bone on the banks of a small river. Apparently the bone formed part of the knee joint of an enormous animal. It was reported that a local Aboriginal person was shown the paper where he identified it straight away as a Bunyip bone.
The Loch Ness Monster
The first sign of the loch ness monster was sighted in July 22, 1933, when George Spicer and his wife saw 'a most extraordinary form of animal' cross the road in front of their car. They described the creature as having a large body (about 4 feet (1 m) high and 25 feet (8 m) long), and long, narrow neck, slightly thicker than an elephant's trunk and as long as the 10–12-foot (3–4 m) width of the road. It lurched across the road towards the loch 20 yards (20 m) away, leaving only a trail of broken undergrowth in its wake.
In August 1933 a motorcyclist named Arthur Grant claimed to have nearly hit the creature while approaching Abriachan on the north-eastern shore, at about 1 am on a moonlit night. Grant claimed that he saw a small head attached to a long neck, and that the creature saw him and crossed the road back into the loch. However some believe this story was just a humorous explanation of a motorcycle accident.
More sightings continued until 1963, when film of the creature was shot in the lake from a distance of 4 kilometers
Bigfoot
Bigfoot is a mythical creature described as a big hairy-ape like creature, about 2-3 meters tall and has reddish brown color fur. Witness says it has a low set forehead and large eyes, also has an unpleasant smell. Footprints have been found from Bigfoot with five toes and a 24 inch foot. In the Pacific Northwest says if the word Bigfoot was said by a child it would come and take the child away or even kill them. In 1924 a man said that he and 4 other miners was attacked by a group of big apes throwing rocks. These creatures attacked the cabin and even tried to bombard into the cabins. There were also other incident happened similar to this and there were 2 incidents that occurred near bluff creak, California, and one in Ruby creak.
In 2007 a snapshot of the Bigfoot was taken but no one still knows if the Bigfoot exists or not.
Because of the distance it was shot at it has been described as poor quality.
Aliens and UFOs
Alien are described as a pale green creature or dark green skin creature. This creature has 4-6 inch fingers. I you look closely at their eyes they are pure black and occasionally dark, dark brown. They do not have a gender but girls usually have a soft texture but boys usually have hard texture of skin. Back in June 1947, unidentified objects were seen in the skies above Washington State’s Cascade Mountains by a private pilot. He described the object as flying saucers. This situation quickly picked up the use of discussing about flying objects. On January 25, 1878 a local farmer reported seeing dark circular objects. The most famous three sightings were in 1916 and 1926. The one in 1916 was seen by a UK pilot reporting a row of lights, like lighted railway carriage, which rose than disappeared. The one in 1926 was by another pilot reporting 6 flying manhole covers between Kansas and Colorado. Late September, an animal pilot over Nevada was forced to land by a huge wingless cylindrical object. Scientists think if aliens were real they could all be living in Mars because astronauts have found some form of life on it, but who knows!?

Review:Who Killed the Electric Car
WALT:describe how advancements in technology occur to meet need or to solve a problem.
1) What problems does the use of the electric car solve?
It solves having to use oil and create global warming and air pollution. It also solves us spending a lot of money just to buy petrol. It could decrease
2) Who will benefit from the electric car?
Pedestrians will benefit from the electric cars because it protects them from hazards. It will also benefit citizens or California because of their strong polluted air that have been caused by oil runned cars.
3) What problems are caused by the electric car?
They require 3 hours to charge the batteries but it can only travel only about a 100 miles on an average, and on a single charge. Also the accessories use up electric power from the batteries, which is the heart of electric auto mobiles, the batteries will drain easily.
4) Write a one page review of-"Who killed the Electric Car?"
General motors invented the electric car to help California citizens from air pollution but the government and some customers disagreed because it was to expensive and they dint know much about it. later, people had to take away the EV1 and have them crushed then they left them where people wont know. customers started to put up notices and boards to persuade the government from continuing to destroy the EV1. Makers enjoy making the EV1s because it's easy to do and because of the mess. Customers not only think that it helps global warming it also is fast and very quite. You could charge during bthe night and then take the plug out when you need to drive somewhere.Later GM created the hummer which got more responses from customers. I think they shouldnt destroy the electric cars because we could help global warming from getting worse. I also think that we should destroy the electric cars because the batteries is expensive and the accessories inside the EV1 uses the batteries, the batteries will drain quite fast.

On Monday 3 May was the day of camp. We went with syndicate D to Motatupu Island for camp. We on a ferry to Rangitoto then went for a 6.5km walk to the Outdoor Education Centre Motutapu Island. It was so exhausting! When we arrived at camp everyone went to their dorm to get unpacked then we started our first activity. My group was 28A and our parent was Kyle’s dad, Mr Glogoski, but we did our activities with 28B.
Our first activity was sailing. On my first turn on the boat, Sonna controlled the tiller and I controlled the main sheet and Krishna did nothing because she didn’t want to and also we’re scared she might make our boat tip. On our second turn me and Sonna swapped jobs. The instructor, JR, told us to go very fast so I had to sit on the edge of the boat and put my feet over the tiller to control it. Because of the current and wind the boat went the wrong direction and capsized! Finally after Krishna climbed in the boat a pool started to rise inside our boat so JR told us to go in his boat. When we arrived on the beach JR said we broke the record of the fastest sailing.
The second activity was raft building .I got a huge bruise because when I fell out of the raft my legs hit the bamboo. Later our raft broke in half and we lost so we splashed watr all over the other team.
After dinner we had our night activities. For night activities we played games with Matt. Later we had diary writing, supper then bed time. On my first day at camp was not as boring as I expect it would be!
On the second day at camp I woke up very excited. After my quick breakfast I got changed into longer pants because I had rock climbing as the first activity. I only did the easiest climbing wall, the slab, because it started to rain.
After morning tea we had confidence course. It was kind of boring because all we did was played some balancing games and thinking games. My favorite activity was when we had to carry someone through a hole inside the net without letting them touch the side.
Next we had kayaking .We kayaked near the boats and one of the boats nearly crashed into some of the kayaks in the way. We played water polo and Mr. Glogoski fell of his kayak.
When I heard that we had high ropes next I was so excited. Firstly I went on the net .I got cramps after I got down. Later I went for the beam .As I reached the top of the pole my feet started to turn into jelly as it kept shaking. As I started to make my trip to the other end I got more confident and walked faster. Went I got down Miss Mudford said I was the fastest to walk across the beam. Kyle’s eyes went red when he came down because he was scared. Kimberley was so frightened but she made it. Krishna had to get rescued because she stayed in the same position the whole time and wouldn’t walk across the beam. I loved high ropes.
Spotlight was our night activity. In 3 out of 5 games Sonna and I survived. In the first game everyone ran towards the court except these 3 boys, Sonna, Krishna and I. We followed the boys because we had no idea where to hide. While we were hiding a boy farted and I burst out laughing. Luckily no parent was around!
In the middle of the night I heard a loud snore that sounded like a monster!
I woke up early in the morning because of a snore. I got dressed and filled up our drink bottle because we had the gun walk. We visited the museum and watched a film where cannons were built in world war 2, the place where we will be going to. In the gun walk we walked up and down steep hills. When we arrived we went into a tunnel and found a white tailed spider!
Next we had our dirtiest activity, the survivor course. For survivor group A and B versed each other by doing all the activities the fastest. One of the course was to climb through tires. While Jason was climbing out a parent was pulling him out but suddenly his pants fell off! Luckily only Sonna saw it. At the end goup B won. Everyone was all muddy so the adult said there is a creak where the clean water are so everyone went in.When we got in we realized the adult tricked us. When everyone came out they were so muddy but no one complained because it was so cool!
Because we did all our night activities so we had a concert. People did comedy acts and singing. My favourite was Mr Glogoski and Mr Pete’s comedy pupet show.

Cellphones/Mobile phones Report
Cellphones/Mobile Phones Report
Cellphones are portable communication devices that can be in any shapes, color, sizes and networks. Nowadays a lot of people have cellphones even small kids.Mobile phones are made to be able to communicate across the world easily.
In the beginning only two-way radios was only able to access in taxicabs, police cruisers, and ambulances. The two-way radios are not mobile phones because they were not normally connected.Originally, mobile two-way radios were only installed in vehicles, but later version so called transportables or ‘bag phone’ were equipped in cigarette lighter plugs so they can be carried around easily.
In 1910 Lars Magnus Ericsson installed a telephone in his vehicle. While traveling around the countries, he would stop at a place where telephone lines were accessible and using a long electric wires he could connect to the telephone networks.
The first person to have a mobile phone was Prince Philip, who had a system fitted into the trunk of his Auston Marton. The prince could make a phone call to the queen while driving, which was thought to be amazing.
In 1958,Kupriyanovich resized his ‘radio phone’ to ‘pocket’ version phone. The weight improved ’light’ hand set was about 500 grams.
Cellphones have been improved a lot during these years, from big heavy and bad communication phones to small light easy communication phones. Mobile phones are so useful now and a great electronic device used for mobile telephone, text messaging and data transmission.
